Ruban Doyal Wilkins 1922-2009

Ruban Doyal Wilkins the son of William (Bill) Green Wilkins and Lula Joyce Akers Wilkins was born October 16, 1922 at Eminence, Missouri and passed away at the Circle of Life Hospice Care in Springdale, Arkansas, Monday, February 16, 2009 making his age 86 years and 4 months.

Doyal was united in marriage to Juanita Fay Ferrell, December 6, 1942 and to their union 4 children were born, William Doyal, Betty Sue, Darrell Lynn, and David Lee.

He served in the United States Army serving during WW II, from March 10, 1943 to January 20, 1946. He worked construction, until he became disabled. He like to hunt and be outdoors when his health permitted.

Preceding Doyal in death are his parents, Bill and Lula, 2 sons, William Doyal and David Lee, 5 brothers, Vernon, Clinton, Gordan, Billy, and Glenn, two sisters, Lillie Adams and Theo Price.

Surviving are his wife Juanita of the home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, daughter Betty Sue Wilkins, son Darrell Wilkins and wife Sam all of the Prairie Grove , Arkansas area; 9 grandchildren, Kenneth Doyal, Lynnita Lea, Rubecca Suzette, Stephen Shawn, William Glenn, Doyal Brent, William Brad, Amanda Nicole, Brian William; and 9 great grandchildren; 1 brother Leland Wilkins and wife Magdoline of Newburg, Missouri; 2 sisters, Thelma Warren of Denver, Colorado and Edna Engler of Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews and a host of other family members.

Funeral Services were held Friday, February 20, 2009 at 11:00 Am at Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville, Missouri with Rev. Leland Mooney officiating. Interment and military honors were held at Shiloh Cemetery near Alton, MO under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.

Walter Lando Beull 1922-2009

Walter Lando Beull was born November 1, 1922 at Yakima, Washington to Ernest Walter Buell and Ethel Margie Langworthy Buell. Walt passed away at the Mountain View Health Care in Mountain View, Missouri, Friday, February 13, 2009 making his age 86 years.

He was united in marriage to Patricia L. Bledsoe, July 6, 1962. Pat brought one daughter Linda and Walt brought on daughter Barbara to their family.

Walt worked in Washington State for many years, working for Weyerhaeuser Timber Company for many years. He was the foreman of his unit, where they cut, logged and worked up the timber. Walt and Pat moved to Summersville in the early 70's where they bought a ranch, and ran a ranching operation for several years. They went in to the dairy business, milking dairy cows for approximately 5 years, selling the dairy, and ranching business when Walt became unable to milk and farm. After selling the business, Walt retired and they moved to Mountain View.

Private funeral rites were held and burial was in Midvale Cemetery near Summersville under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.

Ervin Arnold Stewart 1930-2009

Ervin Arnold Stewart the son of Oscar A. Stewart and Bessie Ellen Day Stewart was born February 4, 1930 at Hartshorn, Missouri; and passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, Monday, February 9, 2009 making his age 79 years and 5 days.

Ervin was married to Joy Michel and to their union two daughters, Sandra Lea and Pamela Sue were born.

At age 19 Ervin moved to St. Louis where he worked as a truck driver, machinist and owned his own taxi service. He enjoyed reading, restoring old cars, doing mechanical work and was avid Cardinals fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Bessie, 4 brothers, James, Paul, Elmer and Everett, 3 sisters, Ethel, Velma, and Virgie.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sandra Stewart-Rollins and husband Will Rollins of St. Charles, MO; Pamela Hauk and husband Tim of St. Peters, MO; 2 grand-daughters, Jamie Fry; Jennifer Sanders and husband Matt; 2 great- grandchildren Owen Sanders, Olivia Sanders; 1 brother Don Stewart of Hartshorn, MO; two sisters-in-law Geraldine Stewart and Juanita Stewart- Norin.

Services were held Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 1:00 Pm at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Infant Sons Bradford January 23, 2009

The still born twins son of James Lee and Lisa (Brewer) Bradford went into the arms of Jesus, Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri.

Their loss will be mourned by their parents, James Lee and Lisa Bradford of Summersville; paternal grandparents James and Sherry Bradford of Summersville; maternal grandparents, Doug and Marla Brewer of Birch Tree, great grandparents, Olive Faulkner of Birch Tree, John and Argylene Brewer of Neosho, Paul and Joy Grogan; Emmett and Beth Bradford all of Summersville, 1 uncle Bobby Brewer, 2 aunts, Kim Brewer and Amanda Bradford. A host of other family members and friends will also mourn the loss of God’s precious babies.

Graveside Services were held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 1:00 Pm at Midvale Cemetery with Brother James Bradford officiating. Interment was in Midvale Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Delmer Tuttle 1926-2009

Delmer Tuttle the son of Grover Tuttle and Annie Powell Tuttle was born February 17, 1926 at Summersville, Missouri. Delmer went to his heavenly home, Saturday evening, January 10, 2009 while in the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Missouri making his age 82 years.

Delmer was united in marriage to Ruth Stark, July 2, 1949 at Salem Arkansas, and to their union 5 children were born, Karen, Sharon, Ronald, Donald and Gary.

Delmer served in the United States Navy from May 9, 1944 to January 21, 1946, during World War II. While in the service he earned Asiatic Pacific 5 Stars; Philippine Liberation Bronze Star, and a Victory Medal. After the Navy, Delmer worked in St. Louis for about 8 years, then moved the family to Summersville and bought a farm. He did a variety of jobs in this area, milked cows, cut cordwood, built fence, worked at the pallet mill and farmed as long as his health would permit.

Delmer was a long-time member of the Hartshorn Church of Christ and was currently attending the Church of Christ at Flat Rock.

Delmer is preceded in death by: his parents, Grover and Annie; 3 brothers, Glenn Tuttle, Elmer Tuttle, Gloster Tuttle, 2 sisters, Alice Jones and Gladys Tuttle, and a great grand-daughter Hannah Johnson.

Delmer is survived by his wife Ruth Tuttle of Summersville, MO; 2 daughters, Karen McAdams and husband Mike of Summersville, MO; Sharon Cook and husband Jim of Hartshorn, MO; 3 sons, Ron Tuttle and wife Cathy; Don Tuttle and wife Barb; Gary Tuttle and wife Candy all of the Summersville area; 11 grandchildren, Kayanna Stiles and husband Justin, Amanda McAdams, Christina Conner and husband Michael, Keith Tuttle and wife Kristin, Shari Tune and husband Jason, Jamie Cook, Angie Johnson and husband Chance, Jason Tuttle and wife Desiree, Melissa Tuttle, Jessica Wilson and husband Brian and Waylon Tuttle; 12 great grandchildren, Seth, Brookelynn, Anthony, Alex, Colton, Sam, Conner, Carson, Riley, Carlie, Kaithlyn and Issac. Delmer is also survived by 2 sisters, Bessie Brawley and husband Corvin; Wilma Breeding all of the Summersville area and a host of nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, January 13th, 2009 at 11:00 Am at Bradford Funeral Home with Brother Tom Dennis officiating. Interment was in Summersville City Cemetery with Military Honors, under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Vernon Paul "Chick" Smith 1930-2009

Vernon Paul Smith, passed away January 3rd, 2009, at the Life Care Center in Brookfield, Mo. Vern, also known by friends and associates as "Chick" or "Smitty" succumbed to liver failure.

Vern was born July 27, 1930 in Hartshorn, Missouri, to Ada and Zachariah Herbert Smith. He was the 7th of ten children born and raised on the family farm. After an early graduation in 1946, Vern taught at Round Valley School near Hartshorn. He then joined the United States Navy in 1948. "Smitty", as his fellow sailors called him, served a year that included tours in Panama and Cuba. He served on the USS Power and the USS Dyess. After his service in the U.S. Military, Chick moved to California and stayed with his sister Eula in Mill Valley, California. There he met his wife Marlene Patricia Mullen in Santa Rosa, California.

Chick and Marlene were married in 1958. They had three children: Mona Marlene, Virgil Paul, and David Alan.

Chick became a union carpenter in 1952 and worked in the trade for many years. He worked his way from carpenter, to foreman, to general foreman and then superintendent. Over the years he oversaw many high profile projects, including the original Alpine Meadows ski lodge in Tahoe, the Village Mall in Corte Madera, enclosing the Northgate Mall in San Rafael, and Skywalker Ranch in San Rafael, home of George Lucas's Lucasfilm.

When Chick retired in 1985, he declined an offer to work on Euro-Disney and shortly thereafter decided move back to his home state of Missouri to perform evangelistic work for the Church of Christ. Vernon was baptized into Christ in 1961 and was an active member of the Church until his death. Vern served in many communities in Missouri and the Midwest. He made many friends and supporters while serving his faith.

After his initial move back to Missouri, Chick moved to several communities, including Hartshorn, Summersville, and Ozark; his last home was in Meadville.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Virgil, Clinton, Walter, Ralph, and Charles; and sisters Eula Murfin and Mildred. Vern is survived by his wife, Marlene, his children, Mona, David, Paul and daughter-in-law Diana, his grandchildren Steven, Zachary, Nicole and Luke, brother Arthur of Sonoma, California, sister Velma Wallace of Villa Ridge, Mo., and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held January 8th, 2009 at 1:00 Pm at Bradford's Funeral Home in Summersville, MO, with Rev. Thom Dennis Officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery in Hartshorn, Mo under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of summersvillle, MO.

Marie Kathern Hager 1915-2009

Marie Kathern Hager the daughter of Fred William Smith and Margaret H. Hentcher was born January 2, 1915 at Desoto, Missouri. Marie passed away at the Mountain View Health Care in Mountain View, Missouri, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the age of 94 years.

For many years Marie lived and worked in St. Louis/Desoto area. Where she worked in the auto industry on the assembly line. She moved to the Mountain View area to be near her sister Gertrude. In 2002 she went to live at the Mountain View Health Care.

She is survived by her sister Gertrude Christopher of Mountain View, Missouri and brother Frank Smith of Valley Mines, Missouri.

Cremation and arrangements were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
