Steven Scott Wright 1962-1983

Steven Scott Wright was born a son of James M. Wright and Lavonna R. (Pender) Wright, May 23, 1962 in Wurzburg, Germany and he departed this life, March 28, 1983 in his 21st year.

Steven accepted Christ in Hawaii and was baptized in 1975 while living in Waipahu, Hawaii.

He attended Plato High School and graduated May 22, 1981.

He loved swimming, snorkeling, hunting, and his motorcycle.

Steven had a wonderful smile and he enjoyed people and could talk with them with such ease. He found a great interest in the space program, the stars and planets and he dreamed of someday being an astronaut.

He was very interested in karate and science fiction. Music had a lot of meaning to him. His favorite flowers were the bird of paradise and the rose. Steven discussed several times with his family his wish to be an organ donor. His eyes were donated to the Eye Tissue Bank in Columbia, Missouri.

Steven is survived by his mother and father, James and Lavonna Wright of Plato, Missouri; one brother: Jeffrey Wright of the home; one sister: Julie Wright of the home; his paternal grandmother Wilma Wright of Puxico, Missouri; and his maternal grandmother: Myrtle Pender of Cobden, Illinois.

Services were held Saturday, March 31, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at Roby Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Barnett officiating.

Music was provided by Beverly Williams, soloist; Ken and Bonnie Breckenridge, duet; and Nancy Heaton, pianist.

Escorts were: Jimmy Oliver, Robert Vaughan, Brian Wade, Archie Hernden, Robert Page, and Ben Croft.

Honorary escort was Ernie Artrip.

Burial was in Alto Pass Cemetery, Alto Pass, Illinois under direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
