Carol Fay (Banks) Smith, the daughter of James Earl Banks and Hazel Mae (Campbell) Banks was born on Spring Valley, in the family home, November 25, 1948, and passed away at Cox South Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, December 27, 2008, making her age 60 years, 1 month, and 2 days.
Carol was united in marriage to Gary Wayne Smith July 30, 1965. To their union 3 children were born; Karen Sue, Stacy Wayne and Traci Nicole.
Carol was dedicated to her husband of 43 years and to her family. Carol worked side by side with Gary at the business that they ran for 38 years. Carol enjoyed most spending time with her six grandchildren, who were most precious to her. She was an avid golfer and had many friends with whom she enjoyed spending time with. Carol was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many and she will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Preceding her in death are: father, James Earl Banks; mother, Hazel Mae Banks; brother, John Houston Banks; and sister Betty Jane Boyet.
Surviving are: husband Gary Wayne Smith; daughter, Karen Sue (Smith) Copeland; son, Stacy Wayne Smith and daughter in law, Michelle Smith; daughter, Traci Nicole (Smith) Henson and son in law, Cody Henson; six grandchildren, Skylar Lee-Anna Copeland; Kyle Christian Copeland, Kyndall Smith Copeland, Anthony Jacob Smith, Wendy Ann Smith, and Creighton Leigh Henson; sister, Shirley Jean Patton; brother, James Kenneth Banks; brother, Harold Dean Banks; sister, Kathleen Martin; and many nieces and nephews.
Grave-side services were held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 11:00 Am at Munsell Cemetery in Eminence, MO with Rev. Robert Medley officiating. Interment was in Munsell Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
