Waneta Reba Goodman age 86, daughter of Frances and Anna (Easley) Elmore was born August 13, 1923 in Roby, MO. She passed away on August 25, 2009 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, MO.
Waneta married Melvin Armstrong on November 3, 1947 in Salem, Arkansas, to this union three children were born, Lois, Reva, and Luie. Melvin died December 25, 1965.
Waneta married Elmer Goodman on February 18, 1967 in the Christian Church, Houston, MO. Elmer was a good husband and father to Lois, Reva and Luie, loving them as if they were his own. Waneta was preceded in death by her parents and her husbands Melvin and Elmer, 3 brothers; Thurman, Willie and Wayne and a half brother Lehman Elmore.
She is survived by her children, Luie Armstrong and wife Kim of Neosho, Lois Carter and husband Danny of Houston, and Reva Goodman and husband Bob of Neosho; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one brother Don Elmore of Roby, MO and one sister Hazel Breedlove of Lynchburg, MO; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Waneta was a stay at home Mom. She was always busy with her hands. She pieced and made quilts, did embroidery grew a wonderful garden and canned produce to be shared with family and friends. She could often be found at garage sales looking for that special buy. Having family dinners at her house was always a treat. She was a wonderful cook and loved having all of her family together.
Her favorite times were spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
