Mildred Hall (Norris) Bennett 1919-2009

Mildred Hall Bennett, 90, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009.

She was born July 22, 1919, in Hartshorn, daughter of Cliff and Maggie Norris. She and Silven Hall were married June 26, 1936. He died in 1976. She later married Leo Bennett, who also died.

She attended 1st Assembly of God Church in St. Charles when she was able. In her younger years, she attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Summersville.

She worked many years as a sewing machine operator and supervisor at Angelica Uniform Factory in Summersville. At age 85, she still worked and cared for the elderly in St. Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Silven Hall and Leo Bennett; four brothers, Sylvan, Zolan, Cryil and Lorin Norris; and a sister, Verna Stewart.

Survivors include three children, Imogene Crider, Ruby Tune and Kenneth Hall of the St. Charles area; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Odom of Summersville and Ethel Atchison of St. John; and many nieces and nephews.

Services were Sunday, Aug. 16, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
