Ruby Ethel (Sullivan) Connolly 1918-2009

Ruby Ethel Connolly, the 3rd child of 13 children born to Luther Lewis Sullivan and Lizzie Laura Holland Sullivan was born June 6, 1918 near Hartshorn, Missouri and went in to the arms of Jesus Friday, May 22, 2009 at 3:15 PM at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri making her age 90 years 11 months and 16 days.

She was united in marriage to James David Connolly, February 24, 1940 at Salem, MO. and to their union two children were born, Donna and Dean. She and David were married 49 years before his death in April 1989.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was the oldest member of the Raymondville Baptist Church in Raymondville, MO. Ruby worked at International Shoe Company in Houston, MO for several years, and then worked at White’s Nursery near Licking, MO. She was a loving wife, mother and a partner to her husband David working with him on the family farm. She loved gardening, working in her flowers and yard. She enjoyed visiting with friends, neighbors, and her many family members.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband David, her parents, Luther and Lizzie Sullivan, 6 sisters, Pauline Sullivan, Ida Mae Maggard, Nedria Fiske, Ada Scott, Marie Powell, Wilma Smith, 3 brothers, Earnest, Elmer, and Delmar Sullivan.

Ruby is survived by her children, Donna McCellan and husband Dick of LaPorte, Colorado, Dean Connolly and wife Sue of Sturgeon, Missouri, 5 grandchildren, Sandra and Andy Legino, of Ault Colorado, Sara and Kevin Anderson; Saneta and Brion Gavette all of Gill, Colorado; Brent Connolly of Sturgeon, Missouri; Tracy and Ron Roberts of Higbee, MO; 15 great grandchildren, Brittany and Zach Legino; Geoffrey, Lindsey and Greg Anderson, Tyler, Hayden, Toby, and Evie Kay Gavette; Ashley and Andy Sunderland; Ryan and Kristal Roberts, Garret and Justin Connolly, 2 great great grandchildren, Kaley and Addisyn Sunderland, two sisters, Geraldine Hogan of Westphalia, Missouri, Lucille Denton of Summersville, Missouri, one brother Delbert Sullivan and wife Dorothy of Summersville, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 10: Am at Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville, MO with Rev. Frank White officiating. Interment will be in Allen Cemetery near Raymondville, MO under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
