LaVerle Root age 67, daughter of Elwin Merle and Lera Fern (Mays) Caldwell was born May 14, 1941 at Ketchum, OK. She died April 26, 2009 at Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by both parents.
She is survived by her husband, Rooty Root of Licking, one son, Ron Root of Chandler, AZ, one daughter Linda and her husband Philip Buchanan of Houston, MO; three granddaughters, Shawna, Jessica, and Elizabeth “Lizi”; four brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
LaVerle grew up in Oklahoma and at the age of 19 went to California where she met Rooty. They were soon married on June 17, 1961 at March Air Force Base. After the birth of their daughter, Linda, they moved to Northern California where their son Ron was born in 1964. They raised their family there until 1992 when they moved to Licking, Missouri to be near their granddaughters.
LaVerle loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
