Lewis Esco Riley 1918-2009

Lewis Esco Riley son of John Wesley Riley and Bertha Leona Martin Riley was born September 7, 1918 at Hartshorn, Missouri and passed away at the Texas County Memorial Hospital, Friday June 12, 2009 making his age 90 years 9 months and 5 days.

Esco was united in marriage to Mary Agnes Tyler, January 9, 1939. To their union 6 children were born, Joyce, Mary, Glenn, Faye, Michael and Stephen.

Esco was a member of the Valley Center Baptist Church at Hartshorn where he attended as long as his health permitted.

Esco grew up along the Current River in Shannon County and loved to fish. He had a old Jeep so he and Agnes could get into the rough places where no one else fished. He had a CB radio and made many friends of those he chatted with.

Preceding him in death were his father and mother, son Michael, daughter Joyce, grandson Rick and brother Oscar.

Surviving are his wife Agnes of the home, son Glenn and wife Jean of Hartshorn, MO; son Stephen and wife April of Angier, North Carolina; daughter Mary Kirkman and husband Bob of Independence, Missouri; daughter Faye Hartman and husband Roger of Batesville, Mississippi; grandsons, Randy Dale, Scott Kirkman, Michael Riley, Brad Riley, Gary Hartman, and Nathaniel Riley; granddaughters, Cindy Young, Carrie Briggs, Christina Hall, Angela Acklin, Jessica Clark, Stephanie Riley, and Frances Riley, 10 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, and 1 great great grandson, and 1 great great granddaughter, 2 brothers, Dredward Riley and wife Delra of Independence, Missouri; John Riley and wife Norma of East Peoria, Illinois and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Bradford Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
