Ethel Margaret (Miller)Cummins 1918-2009

Ethel Margaret Cummins, age 91, daughter of Francis M. and Alta S. (McKinney) Miller was born May 2, 1918 in Yukon, MO. She passed away May 2, 2009 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, MO.

Ethel was united in marriage to Ralph Cummins on May 14, 1940 in Yukon, MO, and to this union three children were born, Ron, Brenda and Jackie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph, and a son Jackie Dale Cummins, 2 brothers; Homer and Robert Miller and 2 sisters; Myrtle and Ruth Ward.

Ethel is survived by a son Ron Cummins and wife Jeanie of Springfield, MO a daughter Brenda Gilliland and husband Bob of Houston, MO, 4 grand children and 7 great-grandchildren, and a brother Don Miller and wife Pat of Houston, MO, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends made throughout the years.

She worked in the food services at Texas County Memorial Hospital for several years and later worked at the Lee Factory.

She had many hobbies; she loved to keep busy using her hands. She worked word puzzles, quilted, and played bingo. She loved cooking for her family and was quite the homemade roll maker.

Ethel loved the Lord with all her heart. She was an active member of the Houston First Free Will Baptist Church for over 46 years. She accepted the Lord early in life.

She made many friends throughout her years, volunteering at the Senior Center in Houston, helping to deliver meals, she loved helping and serving others. Ethel was very active in the community and her church. She also made many friends at the Landmark Villa in Cabool where she spent the last two years.

Ethel has now joined her loved ones that went on before her, and is rejoicing with her Lord. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but we have peace knowing that we will join her soon.
