Ruth Ida (Johnson) Hollibaugh, age 92, daughter of Albert and Ida (Turner) Johnson was born June 1, 1916 in Kansas City, MO. She passed away April 27, 2009 at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care Center in Pekin, IL.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Emily Couch, 2 granddaughters; Lisa Marie Smith and Teresa Lee George, 2 brothers; Raymond Johnson and William Schoppe and a sister Irene Johnson.
Ruth is survived by her children; Ruth Walter and husband Bill of Three Rivers, MI, Dolores Smith and husband Jim of New Castle, OK, Lou Cafourek of Pekin, IL, Everett Lee Hollibaugh, Jr. and wife Evalena of Houston, MO and Kris Edge of Visalia, CA, 16 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, and a sister Hilma Gherna of Three Rivers, MI.
She worked as a CNA at Texas County Memorial Hospital for many years and later volunteered at The Houston Senior Center. She enjoyed visiting with her many friends, quilting, needlework, and took great pride in making quilts for her grandchildren. She loved listening to music and going to various church activities. Ruth loved playing bingo at the Senior Center and later at the Nursing Home.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
