Donald Elmer Brim 1948-2009

Donald Elmer Brim the son of Carol Ottis Brim and Velma Jean Dewoody Bruce was born May 17, 1948 in Texas County, MO and passed away at the his daughter Angela’s home in Pocahontas, Illinois, Tuesday morning, July 14, 2009 making his age 61 years.

Donald was united in marriage to Margaret White and to their union three children were born, Gerald L., Timothy Carl, and Angela Jean.

He proudly served in the United States Army from May 25, 1965 to August 2, 1968 and then served in the Army Reserves until May 24, 1971.

He owned his own roofing company and worked as a roofer. For the last few years he has been disabled. He loved to spent time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed helping others in any way he could.

Donald is preceded in death by his father Carol O. Brim, his mother Velma J. Bruce, 1 son Donald Brim Jr., 2 brothers, Carl Eugene Brim, James Ray Ashmore, 2 sisters, Sandra Labee Romines; and Sherri Brim.

Donald is survived by his three children, sons, Gerald L. Brim of Granite City, Illinois; Timothy Carl Brim of Granite City, Illinois, daughter, Angela Jean Brim Anderson and husband John of Pocahontas, Illinois, 1 brother Ronald Brim of Mountain View, MO; 1 niece Tammatha Brim Burrus, 5 grandchildren, Jonathan James Anderson, Tamara Angela Hoffman, Kristina Michelle Anderson, Cameron Brim Gunter and Kodi Brim Vanvoorst, and his step-mother Eula Brim; step brothers, Larry Labbee, Bobby Labbee, Billy Labbee, Tim Labbee and step sister Rhonda Shoults. Donald is also survived by a host of other family members and many friends.

Graveside Services were held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 1 PM at Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Interment and full military honors and honors by Patriot Guard Riders were at Antioch Cemetery in Hartshorn, Mo under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
